Santo Domingo. – The European Union’s (EU) new ambassador to the Dominican Republic took office on Thursday after presenting his credentials to president Danilo Medina in a National Palace ceremony.

Gianluca Grippa said held a private conversation with Medina on topics of mutual interest prior to the ceremony.

Santo Domingo.- Air Century president Omar Chahin on Tues. announced a US$5.0 million investment to expand its operations in the Caribbean, increasing its routes to San Juan, and adding flights to Saint Martin and Havana.

Washington DC.-  The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tues. forecast that Dominican Republic’s economy will grow 4.8 percent this year, surpassed only by Panama’s 5.3%, and ahead of Bolivía’s 4.2 percent.
